J.W. and I spent Labour Day weekend with my parents at their cabin. Its one of our favorite places to go when he actually has a weekend off work (he only gets two weekends every eight weeks).
Fun fact: J.W.’s grandfather had a cabin that’s only a few kilometers away from my parent’s, and he spent a lot of time there as a kid. Yet we never crossed paths.
Its a 3.5ish hour drive from where we live so I took the afternoon off work so that we would make it there in time for supper (dinner to you non-Newfoundlanders). When we got there food wasn’t ready so J.W. wanted to take a quad ride to his family’s cabin while we waited. I obliged, but I wasn’t overly excited about it. It was not warm friends, more poor little fingers were frozen. But it was such a pretty evening, and its starting to smell like fall. And while I’m not thrilled about the cooler temps, I can embrace the smell of the outdoors this time of year.
J.W.’s cabin is located right on a river, seriously, you can hear the water rushing while you’re lying in bed. Its such a beautiful spot, I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures.
And while I was busy admiring the view and snapping pics, J.W. kept talking about how important this place was to him, how it held so many wonderful memories for him and his family, and how happy he was that I wanted to make new memories with him there. It was super sweet.
And then this happened….
And I ugly cried of course.
And then many pictures of the ring happened.
So yeah, here’s to wishing I had my nails done. And that my iPhone took better pics.
And ps. wedding planning is already stressin’ me.
