I sometimes find it difficult to tell my family about some of the side projects I have outside of my real job. I suppose some of its because if I’m not successful, then no one ever has to know about it, but also perhaps because I have a terribly frustrating habit of not following through. I get super passionate about things for a week or two, maybe even a month, and then I just let it all fall by the wayside. So I guess I hesitate to tell people about my new endeavors because I’m nervous that they wont be as excited as I am about it because they know about my history with these sorts of things.
My family doesn’t know about this blog, (partially because of the occasional PG13 content, I’ll admit), until last weekend they didn’t know about my little Etsy venture, Kathryn Lavers Design. But I was so excited about how well it was flourishing that I couldn`t help but share it with them. And once again they showed me that I don`t have to keep these things to myself. That they support me in every new thing that I try.
My mom was proud and asked me a bunch of questions about it, I`m sure she`s tried to navigate Etsy to find it already. And my Aunt (the wise one) told me that she always knew I`d do something like this eventually.
This morning she sent me an email full of quotes she thought I could use in my designs. I don`t know if I will, but some of them were truly inspirational, and I have no doubt that they will help me more than she ever intended.
Here are some of my favorites.
